Learning Patience

Patience: -     you may be ok, even have the ability to wait. But if you don’t understand the other party’s lack of patience, you don’t have patience. -waiting does not equal patience. -I believe that patience has a limit. -Patience is not a be-all-end-all. You need to have good discernment, when to be patient, and when not to. 你可能还好,甚至有能力等待。 但是不理解对方缺乏耐心,你就没有耐心。 ——chatGPT: what is the definition of patience?——- Patience is the quality of being able to wait or endure without becoming angry or upset.

What if your family has a culture of power and not about love?

I am responsible to be a leader. I am responsible to show, with my actions, that LOVE is the centre of every relationship. Being the eldest in the family, I and naturally looked up to even though it is mostly implied. I need to take this step to be brave and be a leader, whether in a servant leadership role or otherwise. ——-ChatGPT version—— It can lead to toxic relationships, lack of emotional support, and feelings of worthlessness. It's important to recognize the impact this dynamic has and seek support from trusted friends or a therapist to work towards a healthier family dynamic that prioritizes love and respect.

Doing your thing. Your own thing -- The importance of the passion project.

Don’t worry about what other people say. People say a lot. People have a lot of opinions. Have your OWN opinions!!! If you find it hard to have your own opinions, mix the opinions from your closest family and friends. For example, your dad might say something, your mom might say something like “Job is good” or “don’t work there”.  Well, I like to work there, but I still have a job. So I cannot satisfy everything, but I satisfy some. And I happy.

Smart People Need to Speak Up!

Encourage people who are smart to speak up. It may save us. ---chatgpt--- There could be many reasons why someone considered to be "smart" may be silent in a particular situation. Some possible reasons include feeling shy or introverted, being in a state of deep thought or concentration, or feeling unsure or hesitant to speak up. Additionally, they may be aware of the weight of their words and the impact it may have on the situation and choose to remain silent.

How to be you while still being socially acceptable?

I feel that you have to prioritize yourself first. Then you should prioritize "social acceptability" second. There must be some space in between the you and the world. Space where you can both be yourself and socially acceptable. A space to make mistakes. A space to experiment and try things out. It is a balancing act that usually doesn't work out the first time. -----CHATGPT version---- Being true to yourself while also being socially acceptable can be a balancing act, but it is possible to do both. Here are a few tips that may help: Understand and respect social norms: Learn about the customs and expectations of the society you live in, and try to comply with them in your interactions with others. Communicate effectively: Be clear and direct in your communication and try to understand others' perspectives. This can help avoid misunderstandings and conflicts. Be open-minded: Be willing to hear others' opinions and perspectives, even if they differ from your own.

Is working on yourself is a lifetime project?

It's not something you can truly ever be done. You want to make a difference in the world, you need to work on yourself as a MAIN THING.  That doesn't mean that you can't do both at the same time.  Think small. Slow down. Even your dreams should be doable. -----CHATGPT version---- Working on oneself is a continuous process that can last a lifetime. It involves developing self-awareness, understanding one's strengths and weaknesses, setting goals, and taking action to improve oneself. It can include personal development in areas such as emotional intelligence, physical fitness, career advancement, and relationships. It is an ongoing journey of self-discovery and growth.

Too Convenient for Our Own Good

Some things are so seductive. You think you are the master. They creep up on you slowly until one day, BAM!, you are under their control. This is how I view tech today. Every new APP screams, "try us, we'll make your life better"! Try this thought experiment. Tomorrow, you have no e-mail. It was deleted, the company went bankrupt, it got hacked, whatever. Not impossible. Tech has just grown so fast that there aren't enough necessary checks and balances. It has served it's purpose of fostering innovation. But by the time the invention has become commonplace, don't we need to regulate it?

What if to do if you are bored at work?

I like to think a lot.  Ruminate.  Like how to improve and have fun.  1. Be positive 2 . Be empathetic, think how to help your co-workers 3. Be proactive 4. Challenge yourself to practice patience 5. Challenge yourself to not be stressed  ----- BTW, what would ChatGPT have written with this blog title??? I'm curious: Here are a few things you can do if you're feeling bored at work: Look for new projects or tasks to work on, or ask your manager if there's anything you can help with. Organize your workspace or clean up your computer files. Take a short break to stretch or go for a walk. Find ways to make your current tasks more interesting, such as by finding new ways to approach them or by setting small goals for yourself. Connect with colleagues and build relationships with them Learn something new by taking an online course or reading an interesting article related to your field. It's important to note that if you're feeling consistently bored a

Knowing your Boundaries

How do you know your boundaries? You need to write it down, what is High Importance, Medium Important, Low Importance. It is challenging, but learn how to say NO. You need to learn to practice to set boundaries. It is not "one and done". New Year, new goals, new challenges. Nothing is perfect, perfect is nothing. Good enough is GOLD. Perfection is the enemy of good.

The New Year Cometh (2023)

It is bursting with opportunity, hope for change, and a fresh mindset. Let's see where life takes us. Several career goals, several relationship-oriented goals, and of course settings good, healthy routines. I am so excited to see where things go. I am looking for trends. As one of my friends, James Kelly CEO of FaithTech, once said, "where there is devastation, there is opportunity". 2022 was not good economically and I'd say generally for the Tech industry where things like VR and Social Media products didn't pan out well. 2023 WILL BE DIFFERENT. From this trough of disappointment, there is new energy, new fire in the belly to succeed.
